2008 Taste of Tillamook County News and Press Releases

TILLAMOOK, Ore., Jan. 31, 2008 -- The sixth annual Taste of Tillamook County, March 15 and 16 at the Tillamook County Fairgrounds, is looking for volunteers to assist during the event weekend. Volunteers are needed to help staff the event, to make it even more special. There are a variety of shift times and responsibilities from which volunteers can choose, such as volunteering in the merchandise shop, helping with the People’s Choice contest, or even being on the litter and recycling patrol.

Anyone interested in volunteering is asked to pre-register in order to have a confirmed spot as a volunteer. Returning registration forms quickly will also increase the possibility of receiving your first choice of time, day and assignment. Registration forms are available online at www.tasteoftillamookcounty.com/beavolunteer.htm. You can also call the Economic Development Council at 503-842-2236, or e-mail Chandra Allen, volunteer coordinator, at callen2814@aol.com. Simply fill it out indicating your choices of day, time and responsibility and return it to the Economic Development Council at the address provided or fax it to the attention of Chandra Allen at 503-815-1368.

Taste of Tillamook County is thankful for its event volunteers who by volunteering their time help make the event run smoothly. In appreciation for those that help, volunteers will receive free admission for the day of their shift, a free parking pass and additional compensation.

Taste of Tillamook County is an annual event that celebrates Tillamook County’s rich and diverse food industry while raising funds for Tillamook County food programs. The event will be full of new and returning vendors offering samples of food and beverages, many popular competitions and demonstrations will return, such as the Amateur Mac-n-Cheese Contest finale, black box cooking competition and oyster speed shucking.
